Thread Vein Removal
Are you constantly checking your make-up or always wearing dark tights?!
You don't have to try cover your thread veins anymore!
Thread veins are extremely common and sometimes embarrassing, mostly affecting the face, body and legs. The causes of thread veins are unknown although they may be caused by changes in temperature, smoking, hormonal changes, alcohol and prolonged standing as well as being a possible inherited condition.
How does it work?
A thread vein is a small blood vessel near the surface of the skin. The Ellipse operator guides the visible light from a flash-lamp to the blood vessels needing treatment. The unique Ellipse I2PL system carefully filters this light in two ways to ensure only light with the correct characteristics is allowed to reach your skin.
Will it work for me?
The lighter the skin, the more pronounced the contrast between the vessel and the skin, making treatment is easier. Ellipse has pre-programmed settings for different skin colours that deliver the correct energy output for your complexion.
How long does treatment take?
The treatment time depends on the area to be covered. A single session typically lasts 10-20 minutes.
Does it hurt?
No anaesthetics are required. Most people describe the sensation as similar to that of a rubber band snapping onto the skin, followed by a warm sensation lasting several minutes.
How can light remove thread veins and is it safe?
You can read a full description of the process here. The light used is a completely safe & visible light. Potentially harmful wavelengths are removed by a filtering system. If you have any further questions or concerns please ask Dr.Hynes during your consultation.
